One of the big stories out of Herzogenaurach in 2018 were the mashups of historic Adidas silhouettes with modern sole technology. In 2019, Adidas Originals continues that trend, and the Marathon Tech is set to leave its footprint on 2019 like few other models will. Releasing 1st of March at STAB Berlin: The Adidas Originals Marathon Tech "Trace Cargo / Silver Met. / Raw Sand" & "Trace Cargo / Silver Met. / Real Magenta"!
Old men in new cars - the Adidas Originals Marathon Tech
Stan Smith Boost, Futurepacer, ZX 500 RM, you name it. Adidas went all in on meshing its revolutionary Boost technology with multiple legendary silhouettes in recent years, and with great success. 2019, now, is set to be the year of the Marathon Tech. Its original, the Marathon TR, was one of Adi Dassler's last projects and at its incetption a true trailblazer on the trailrunning market (no pun intended). Donning the traditional Adidas blue back then, the Marathon TR was the answer to Nike's Waffle racer, first released in 1974.
Boost meets the Dellinger Web
Another great invention of the original Marathon TR was the so called "Dellinger Web", a fabric web that surrounded the midsole of the shoe to give the runner more support. Now, the revoltution of the late 70s meets Adidas latest masterstroke: The Boost technology, than rolled through the footwear scene like a freight train in recent years and it's mashup with the Dellinger Web will make 2019 quite the ride for all the sneakerheads out there.
